
Google Nexus One a evolutionary smartphone which runs on Android 2.1 from Google is now available to buy in selected countries. Google calls it as ‘superphone’ which runs with a Qualcomm QSD 8250 1 GHz processor. Google Nexus One has got a big 3.7″ WVGA Touch screen which can display at a resolution of 800 x 400 pixels and 100000:1 typical contrast ratio.
Most interesting feature of Google Nexus One is the voice recognition which allows user to convert voice to text. A native Gmail application and voice direction while driving are other impressive features. A 5mp camera with autofocus ability from 6cm to infinity and LED flash allows to pick photos with 2X digital zoom and capture video at 720×480 pixels with 20fps or higher.
Google Nexus One has 512MB of Flash, 512MB RAM and 4GB Micro SD card which is expandable to 32GB. It weighs with battery about 130g sizing 119×59.8×11.5mm which will be handy too. Nexus One gives a talk time upto 10hours on 2G networks and upto 7hours on 3G networks.
Google Nexus One supports UTMS Band 1/4/8(2100/AWS/900, HSDPA 7.2Mbps, HSUPA 2Mbps, GSM/EDGE(850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz), WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1 and A2DP stereo Bluetooth to provide high quality cellular and wireless connectivity. Onboard AGPS and WiFi positioning allows to map the location easily.
Google Nexus One mobile phone has got many other features which will impress users with high quality Internet Browsing, web search, Social Networking and Emailing. With the recent Android OS variants, I don’t think task killers are necessary. On my N1 I observe no difference in speed when killing tasks; nevertheless, on my Hero operating 1.5 there was a noted difference after killing some apps (like Google Maps).
